Initiating in the 2018-2019 school year, the Law and Public Service Magnet Academy was developed with the student in mind. After surveying and researching the needs of the middle school student, the Law & Public Service Magnet was established. Our goal is to empower our students with an education that is both academically rigorous and practical for their future development.
Here at the Law and Pubic Service Magnet, one of our goals is to inspire a commitment to public service through a rich selection of programs, courses, clubs, activities and individual pursuits. Being in the heart of Boyle Heights, the Law & Public Service Magnet also provides students with opportunities to serve the community that few middle schools can match.
Our students have access to "Teen Court", which is a problem-solving court within the juvenile justice system where teens charged with certain types of offenses can be sentenced by a jury of same-aged peers. Our students participate in this program thanks to the outreach opportunites that our Law & Public Service Magnet offerts to our students.
